Maureen Miller, Ph.D. Harvard University, is Professor of History. Professor Miller’s work focuses on the ecclesiastical and cultural history of Italy during the Middle Ages. Recent course offerings include Italy in the Age of Dante and a graduate seminar entitled Material Culture: Approaches to Medieval and Renaissance Europe. She is the author of Power and the Holy in the Age of the Investiture Conflict: A Brief Documentary History (The Bedford Series of History and Culture, Bedford/St. Martin’s, 2005). The Bishop’s Place: Architecture and Authority in Medieval Italy (Cornell UP, 2000) and The Formation of a Medieval Church: Ecclesiastical Change in Verona, 950-1150 (Cornell UP, 1993).
